First Time Cruising Tips - Keep in Mind Before You plan
Have you ever thought about the idea that the oldest view in the world is the view of the ocean? For millions and millions of years this view is untouched and unique.
That's why cruising and being at sea is fantastic and a unique experience. Whether you're cruising with Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Princess or Holland America Line, all companies try to offer you their best product.
There are a couple of things I would like to tell you just to prevent you get disappointed on board.
1 Check the location of your cabin.
Cruise ships have a lot of fire screen doors to prevent smoke travelling through the corridors in case of fire. Some are always open and can be closed automatically. But some are always closed and need to be opened when you pass through. A lot of these doors are slamming. Make sure your cabin is in the middle of the corridor and check the location.
2 Check the cruise schedule also known as the Itinerary.
It always looks fantastic when a ship sails into a lot of different ports in a short period of time. But you don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure things out. Just by looking at the chart either you need a hell of a speed or you will be visiting the port very shortly. Most of the time it is the latter. Cruise companies try to save a lot of money just by reducing speed as much as possible so be aware and ask your cruise consultant for more details.
3 Learn a little bit more about the maritime world
Try to imagine how life was in the old days. How the safety improved in all those years. Think about the Titanic for example. Well I can assure you this; a lot of things have changed since 1912. Find out some info about the ship you are sailing on. What is the average consumption of a cruise liner? Or is the ship you are cruising on the biggest in the world. Which ship is the biggest or the fastest? Which pirates sailed in the Caribbean?

Scuba Diving Tours
However, this is simply not true, although before you go scuba diving in the ocean, it is sensible that you have some basic knowledge of diving and decent swimming ability. However, you do not have to be an experienced diver. After all, everyone has to go scuba diving for the first time.
Scuba diving is a pretty self-explanatory pursuit really. Scuba divers can be seen in many movies and in many theme parks. While the general idea of scuba diving is the same everywhere in the world, what you will see underwater is not. There are a number of marine creatures and plants that can only be seen in certain countries. This is one of the reasons why you should book a scuba diving escapade with care.
In Thailand for example, scuba divers are often able to swim with porpoise and marine turtles. This alone is worth the cost of scuba diving for many people. Aside from swimming with sea creatures, you can also spend your scuba diving vacation examining life and the environment underwater.
Just a few of the many marine creatures that you can easily see in Thailand are large lobsters, electric eels, sting rays and a large number of different kinds of fish. The fish found in Thai waters are very varied because of the incredible environment they have there, which includes natural reefs, sandbanks and wrecks..
Maritime creatures are undoubtedly the most exhilarating part of scuba diving, but there are also other submarine activities in which to participate. For example, many scuba divers enjoy diving along coral reefs. Coral reefs are not only home to a large amount of marine animals, but they are also great to explore. You will find it exciting swimming around the many different shaped reefs.
Having said this, unless you are an experienced underwater diver, you should go scuba diving with a skilled professional. These professionals are most commonly found by means of scuba diving tour groups. Scuba diving tour groups can be found all along the coast of Thailand. Scuba diving is a popular pastime among foreigners in Thailand, so you would be astute to book your scuba diving trips well ahead of time.
As well as booking a scuba dive with a trained diver, you can also take scuba diving lessons at most coastal resorts in Thailand. Many of these locations also offer guided tours. Scuba diving lessons are offered as group lessons or private lessons. Private lessons may be a bit more expensive, but many first time scuba divers find them worthwhile, in more ways than one.
To find accompanied tours intended for scuba divers, you can ask in local sea front bars, at your hotel reception or at the nearest tourist information office. Whether you have already chosen your destination or not, you will easily be able to find local underwater tours or lesson, especially in the more popular Thai cities like Pattaya and Phuket. The things that you will see underwater will make your holiday even more unforgettable and make you wish you had started years previouslySunday, September 27, 2009

A great way to spend a half day (or longer if you'd like), those driving the Circle will be treated to a truly unspoiled scenic treat through Carson National Forest.
2. Take A Hot Air Balloon Adventure
Taos is simply one of the most beautiful places in the country to experience a hot air balloon ride. From the air, you can fully take in the enormity of the awe inspiring Rio Grande Gorge in a way that's just not possible from a ground-level perspective.
3. Enjoy Fantastic Fall Colors
The changing autumn leaves are quite the sight throughout the Taos region. And with Carson National Forest surrounding you, there's certainly no shortage of colorful kaleidoscope foliage to enjoy. You'll appreciate the picturesque experience regardless of your viewpoint-but with plenty of trails to explore, perhaps hiking through the trees is the perfect way to get up close and personal.
4. Shop Arts And Crafts
The Taos and Santa Fe areas boast more arts and crafts shopping than you could possibly ever imagine-southwestern style, of course! If you're looking for unique gifts, one thing is certain...you will find them here (and just remember, the holidays are right around the corner).
5. Ride The Rail
Always wanted to take a scenic train ride like the ones seen on the popular television travel shows? If so, you're in luck! The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad, a classic steam narrow gauge, has a passenger terminal in Antonio (a scenic 77 mile drive from Taos). This is guaranteed to be a trip you'll remember!
6. Experience A Taos Fall Festival
With festivals celebrating the arts, local culture, history, and the autumn season scheduled practically every week through the fall, you'll definitely want to take in one of these famous celebrations for yourself when you visit Taos! Be sure to check with the local Visitor's Bureau for a complete calendar of events.
7. Relax With A Spa Weekend
Well known for its excellent top spa resorts to choose from, Taos has become a relaxation and rejuvenation haven. Before the hustle and bustle of ski season sets in-and with plenty of opportunity for enjoyable, quiet activity in the area this time of year-autumn is the perfect time to partake in a long destination weekend at the spa!
